With Gonçalves’s commanding performance, the Revs and their traveling supporters were able to walk out of Stade Saputo last Saturday with all three points and a fighting chance for the playoffs. Now they’re coming home and we need everyone to be there and be loud.
Back from the North
We want to thank all of the Riders who made the trip to Stade Saputo last weekend. It was a small but passionate and loud bunch who represented New England well – as recognized by the team after the game. If you have photos from the trip, please add them to the Midnight Riders’ group on Flickr.
Our thoughts also go out to Saër Sène, whose season ended on Saturday with a dislocated ankle and broken leg, and who underwent surgery this week that will keep him out for four to six months. Here’s to a quick recovery and a prolific return in 2014, Saër!
Like a razor through shaving cream
One last time in the regular season, the Revs will return to Gillette Stadium tomorrow, knowing a win this week and next will likely be enough – and probably required – to make the playoffs.
We’re selling discounted Fort tickets in preparation. Tickets are only $17 (roughly 30% off), but the deal ends at 3:00pm tomorrow (Saturday, the 19th) so act fast. We want a full house tomorrow to cheer on the boys in blue and provide that home-field advantage.
Man of the Year
We’ll be presenting the Midnight Riders’ 2013 Man of the Year award at the front of the Fort after tomorrow’s game – make sure to be there as we honor the Riders’ MVP for the season. Do you know who it will be? Sound off at the boards after the ceremony with your thoughts – was it the right choice? Who was your pick?
Supporters’ Shield
The new Supporters’ Shield will also be concluding its trip around the country at tomorrow’s game. Come and take your picture with it! It’s really a spectacular (and substantial) thing.
There are a limited number of scarves for sale in the shop in support of the new trophy. They will also be available at the game.
It may seem a long way off for the Revs today, but this shield is already a part of MLS history, and supporters like the Riders help shape that history. And one day when the Revs hoist the shield at the end of the regular season, you can say, “I helped make that.”
It all comes down to this
The last game of the regular season may be the deciding game for the Revs’ playoff chances. Come out to the Banshee in Dorchester as we send off the 2013 regular season (though hopefully not the entire season) with a bang. The Supporters’ Shield will also be there. Don’t miss out!
Movember
The Midnight Riders are teaming up with the Revolution this year for Movember, to raise awareness and funds to combat prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental health challenges. You can join the team or donate here.
The Revolution has been directly affected by cancer this year, and we all want to help support research and awareness to eradicate this awful disease. Please join our efforts help in the fight.
