We know many of our members and other Revs fans are frustrated with the team’s performance of late. But we don’t perceive our mission to be reliant on team success – we’re here to support the team, the fans, and the New England soccer community in good times and bad. That’s what we believe it means to be a supporters group. We’re not whistling past the graveyard, but we’re not picketing the team, either. We’re the Riders, and we ride regardless.
The Riders have supported this team for a generation, and we will continue to do so. It’s painful for us to see the current state of affairs, and we desperately want the club to experience success on the field. We have no confidence in the team’s soccer operations leadership as currently constructed and believe that a new general manager is required to restore our team to the prominence it deserves.
We would like to thank Mike Burns for representing our region as an original Revolution player, but we believe that someone else should be in charge of hiring the coaching staff and building the roster.
We are supporters of this team, and we will wear navy and red on each gameday, home or away. But we believe it’s time for a change, one that increases the prospects and the profile of the team we love. We hope that this statement is received in the spirit that it’s meant, and we will sing for 90 minutes for our boys in blue week-in, week-out. New England till we die.
