Riders: Ignoring moments of silence since 2009…

Kdawg, member of the Midnight Riders since 2009. It’s not a coincidence. He was just having too much fun to realize that he was in the midst of a moment of silence for some dead base jumper. You really can’t be mad at him though, first of all he’s the Big Toe, and second of all, he made it into the stadium this time. He really showed a lot of courage, hard work, and sticktoitivness to return to the scene of his first epic Revs Tailgate meltdown. But this time, things were different. He drank even more beer, and he acted with an even more wreckless abandon than before. Luckily, he was prepared. The years leading up to this event were spent in constant cycle of beer related training and this proved to be the key to his success along with a hearty breakfast. I encourage all of you who have now had your souls warmed by this uplifting story to congratulate young Kdawg for his success at the next tailgate, which is also his birthday. I couldn’t think of a better present for him than to be congratulated by all of the Camille Toes for a job well done.
As for the rest of the trip, it was fantastic. We spent time with many beautiful and interesting people at a lovely establishment known as Rick’s. We watched the sunrise through the rain at 6 am over the Hudson River. We stopped at a Shop-Rite in Hoboken. It was the trip that we always believed we could have. It has inspired in me words and thoughts that I have never encountered in my many days as a famous writer and I will most certainly write a book about it. We also took many artistic photographs that will certainly, one day, be in a museum or wealthy person’s private collection. You can view them here on facebook.
The Revs plan for replacing Parkhurst appears to be quantity…maybe quality.
Emmanuel Osei, of Cameroon, has just been added to the group of players expected to pick up the slack in the abscense of Michael Parkhurst. If Gabriel Badilla ever gets healthy it seems that they will have plenty of depth in the backline and a position that used to a strength, striker, may prove to be the new weakness. As rumored on BigSoccer, it wouldn’t suprise me if Albright makes a move this year or next and eventually wind up in Philadelphia, the next MLS expansion city and his hometown.
This depth at the back certainly isn’t a bad thing. Every succesful MLS team has focused on defense, including the Columbus Crew who have Frankie Hedjuk and Chad Marshall to thank for the 2008 MLS Cup title. If the Revs strength is indeed in numbers, they may very well continue their run of successful season. If rookies Darius Barnes and Kevin Alston are any indication this could be starting point of something special.
If you can’t wait until this Saturday to combine beer drinking and soccer watching…
This Wednesday come join the American Outlaws: Boston Chapter for a night of soccer and beer at the Phoenix Landing in Central Square, Cambridge. $3 appetizers and $3 Carlsberg drafts all night. Kickoff is at 7:30pm
Coming off a great (although this blogger would say, still disapointing) come from behind draw against El Salvador the Yanks look to continue their undefeated run to the 2010 World Cup against the Soca Warriors in Nashville.

If I know one thing about Camille Toes its that they love a bargain. If I know one other thing about them, it’s that they love to meet their favorite internet personality (me) and buy him beers. So I hope to see you there and, yes, I’d love a Carlsberg.
