DJ Gemini and the Midnight Riders!

Sorry I didn’t post last night. I was too busy cooking a delicious pizza and playing indoor soccer at 11 pm. I was exhausted. I am sorry. I’m glad you all took the extra 24 hours without a post to debate whether or not I am racist. I know the answer, but I’m not going to tell you until someone makes a really good argument for or against. Consider it the second contest after the “Give the passionate fan’s a nickname” contest, which was won by Fran, age 12, from Jamaica Plain with his entry of “The Camille Toes.” So, is the Rider Insider racist? You decide.
Viewing Location Decided for First Game
Against all odds we have found a place to watch the Revs play San Jose this Saturday night. We will be at DJ’s by the Garden. Although the match kicks off at 10:30 pm it is recommended that you show up before 10 pm to avoid the cover charge.
“Cover charge!?”
Yes, cover charge. Thanks to an agreement DJ’s has with a promoter, the world famous DJ Gemini will be providing the soundtrack for the match.
As much as I would love to sit here and slate DJ’s for having a DJ named after an astrological sign playing while we’re watching the game I have to be realistic. There really aren’t too many places that would put the game on at 10:30 pm on a Saturday night. It’s the world we live in and until one of us Riders buys a bar and shows every game we have to deal with the hand that this city deals. And thank the lord for DJ’s and the connection that Julie has there (it’s a funny story, ask her sometime).
Castro is out and my other roster prognostications
According to a Kyle McCarthy’s tweet, the Revs will be without Mauricio Castro for the opening match. This will probably lead to Kenny Mansally’s first start at left wing. His athleticism and attacking ability should give the Revs a look on the left that we haven’t seen in a very long time.
The Revs also signed Darrius Barnes to the full roster, a move that was pretty much set in stone after his string of solid performances this preseason. If Gabriel Badilla doesn’t get fit by the first match, which he won’t, I see Barnes getting his hands on one of the two starting center back spots and never letting go. I’m predicting that Gabriel Badilla will do nothing of note for Revs in his career. He will be just another in a long line of disappointing late-season signings.
I’ll try to get a rundown of every preseason prognostication involving the Revs and most importantly give my opinion.
