A Special Thank You

The night we met The night we met

I didn’t get a chance to write about it earlier but I just wanted to take this chance to thank Maya for the birthday gift she gave me.  As you can tell by the picture above we’re the best of friends and have had many great times together.  I never ask of anything from her but there she is getting me a great birthday present for my 24th birthday.  You can see it right here:

The Best Soccer Team, Right Now, in New England

Coach "Rockin' Awesome" Joe Butler Coach "Rockin' Awesome" Joe Butler

The best soccer team in New England is coached by the same dashing man who writes The One Armed Love Machine Blog.  He is pictured above. The team is a Middle School Co-Ed Indoor Soccer team and they have not lost all season and they are one match away, the Grand Final, from completing the perfect season. In an attempt to mess with their psyche and hype them into a false sense of predetermined destiny we sat down with the coach and ... Continue Reading

The Future Of Gillette Stadium As A MLS Venue

This is a bit off the reservation, as it’s not in keeping with the series.  However, I needed a proper format to write this and the Midnight Riders blog wins by default.

Gillette Stadium is a modern American stadium.  It’s the home of the New England Patriots, who rake in millions hand over fist for the team and stadium owners: The Kraft Family.  They did a wonderful job in privately financing it when their search for a new home in Boston (and then Hartford) failed.  People are always impressed with it’s character and the new Patriot Place development has only added ... The Dude Abides

Bowling was just like this great movie Bowling was just like this great movie

I’d like to thank all of the Camille Toes who made my birthday the special date that it deserves to be.  Those of you at the viewing party at the Banshee, which was fantastic, and those who came bowling at Lanes & Games on Sunday night, I appreciate it.  Also, you’re welcome for my gracing you with my presence.

The match on Saturday went pretty well.  If it didn’t come off the back of two miserable performances then we would have all commended ... Continue Reading

The Scarf

Been awhile since my last post.  Whatever.  As I used to tell newbs in the navy: suck it up nubs (non-useful bodies).  To be honest, I’m thinking about getting back into blogging about soccer, but I don’t really want to run a site like I did before.  So, in the meantime, I can get back to the series I started right here on the Midnight Riders site.

Today I’m going to talk about the essential of clothing which sets soccer fans apart from any other group of fans in America: the scarf.

The tradition of wearing a scarf to football started in ... Continue Reading

Everybody Loves A Good Conspiracy Theory

Who doesn’t? You get that feeling that you know what’s really going in the world and “the civilians” don’t. Conspiracy theories are older thanTony Meola’s Weight Watchers’ membership for a reason. They spread, they get digested into the culture, they become something your older brother tells you about when he thinks you’re old enough. As long as you don’t really believe Radio Shack is asking you personal information to use later when they kidnap and build a moon base for the elite, you’re ok.

Can we get a Revs DP in here? Can we get ... Continue Reading

Trade Party! Trade Party!

Sorry, but every blog needs a picture.  Just know that the Rider Inside loves you.

That’s why he’s blogging late at night just to give you the inside dish on the newest Rev, Nico Colaluca. Pretty much all of your questions about the HUGE, MEGA deal and Colaluca can be answered here by the Colorado Rapids Examiner Deron White.

It really says a lot about the recent state of the Revs when you see how interested and excited the fan base got when rumors of this deal began to surface.  I noted ... Continue Reading

Everybody Sucks!

The banshee didn't suck. The banshee didn't suck. Sorry for the long break in between posts, Camille Toes. But for the last two weeks, everything and everybody sucks.  I can even put my finger on when it began.  It started when I asked Garrett to get me somewhere on time.  Here’s the story:

***

It’s Saturday night and Garrett has brought me to the Banshee Pub.  Since we’re running on Garrett time we’re late.  And not fashionably so, we roll into the bar with 10 minutes left in the half.  (No excuses Garrett, no one wants to ... Continue Reading
